SmartGo One for Mac
It took longer than anticipated, but the Mac version of SmartGo One is now available, running on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Read more about it in this blog post: https://smartgo.blog/2023/05/09/smartgo-for-mac/
SmartGo One is a free download from the Mac App Store. All your in-app purchases from iOS (books, problem collections) and your Pro subscription should automatically show up and work on the Mac. And your progress in solving problems as well as pro game annotations now sync between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Go format files
SmartGo One added support for reading UGF, NGF, and GIB files earlier this year. The Mac version can also read .go (Ishi Press) format files; this will be added to the iOS version shortly.
Another small addition that will also be in the next iOS version is setting the board size to be used for New Empty Board (Settings > Games > New Empty Board).
Tips & tricks
Some features you might not be aware of:
- When you search for games in Pro Games, you can specify a range of years, e.g. 2020-2023, and you can use ! to negate a search term, e.g. takemiya !masaki to find other players named Takemiya. More information is in the User Manual (directly available from the Help menu in the Mac version).
- In Settings > About SmartGo One, I’m sure you’ve tapped on the application icon. No?
