SmartGo One
Five years in the making, the all-new version of SmartGo for iPhone and iPad is ready. I call it SmartGo One – one app for all your go needs. Whether you want to learn the game, play against the computer, solve problems, or read go books, it’s all there. It’s SmartGo Kifu and Go Books rolled into one and taken to the next level.
SmartGo One is better in so many ways: improved user interface, more features, better integration, and stronger computer play. And it’s a free download. A lot of the app is available for free; advanced features and the growing pro game collection (now 114,000+ game records) are available via a modest $12/year subscription, with a 14-day free trial. More details
I've written two blog posts on SmartGo One at smartgo.blog: - SmartGo One: User Interface and Features looks at the differences between SmartGo Kifu and SmartGo One, giving you a taste of all the new and improved features in SmartGo One. - SmartGo One: Business Model looks at the challenge of replacing two paid-up-front apps by a single app with a completely different business model.
FAQ
Some questions you may have:
- What happens to SmartGo Kifu?
If you have SmartGo Kifu, you can continue to use it for as long as you want, but it’s no longer in the App Store. If you bought SmartGo Kifu in 2021 or 2022, let me know, and I’ll be happy to get you a significantly extended free trial of the advanced features in SmartGo One.
- What happens to Go Books?
The standalone Go Books app will remain in the App Store. If you register your book purchases in Go Books (by linking them to your email), you'll have access to those same books in SmartGo One.
- How do I transfer games from SmartGo Kifu to SmartGo One?
Please see the FAQs at https://smartgo.com/support.html.
