The 1971 Honinbo Tournament
I added a new-to-go-books book last month, and so far sales have been slow. I suspect the title is partly to blame: unlike Liquid Glass, “The 1971 Honinbo Tournament” is not shiny and new. But it’s still relevant and exciting. Written by James Davies, based on the commentaries of Iwamoto Kaoru 9-dan, it has been out of print for the last 10 years. The 13 games are analyzed in great detail, with easy-to-follow figures for each game (327 figures, 460 diagrams).
